Lower Back Pain: What Your Body Is Trying to Tell You
Monday January 19, 2026
Lower back pain is one of the most common issues I see — and it’s rarely just about posture or tight muscles. More often, it’s your body communicating something deeper.
The lower back is a bridge between the upper and lower body. When something below it (like the feet or pelvis) or above it isn’t moving well, the lower back often takes on the extra load. That’s why pain shows up there, even when the source is somewhere else.
In my osteopathic work, I don’t just look at the painful area. I assess how the feet, legs, pelvis, and spine are working together. Chronic lower back pain often reflects long-standing patterns — physical, emotional, and lifestyle-related.
Energetically, the lower back is linked to safety and support. Many people I work with carry tension here during times of stress, uncertainty, or when they feel they have to “hold everything together.”
Your body isn’t broken — it’s responding intelligently.
If you want to understand lower back pain more deeply and learn how your body may be communicating through it, I talk about this in more detail on my YouTube channel. This week’s video explores lower back pain through both an osteopathic and mind–body lens.
