Five things I need to say to you plainly this week
No cushioning this week. Just five things I want you to hear straight, and one thought to close on.
1. Feeling sorry for yourself won't change anything.
You deserve compassion for what you've been through. But at some point, "Why me?" has to become "What can I do from here?"
2. You can't keep avoiding how you actually feel.
Fear, anger, grief, resentment — acknowledging them doesn't make you negative. It makes you honest.
3. You need to be honest about what's not working in your life.
The relationship. The job. The stress. The way you're living. You don't have to change it today, but you do have to be willing to look at it.
4. Diet and exercise aren't the whole answer.
Your physical health matters. So does your emotional health.
5. You have to participate in your own healing.
Get support. Work with good practitioners. But learn your own body, notice your patterns, and stay curious about your symptoms.
None of this means you caused your chronic pain or cancer
It means you still have agency in what happens next.

If number five is the one that stops you — knowing where to even start with learning your own body — that's the whole point of Body Aware, the short course I've been building. Four lessons, one skill: noticing. More on that soon.
I'm here when you're ready.
