What Skydiving Taught Me About Trusting Myself

A Birthday, A Leap... and a Lesson in Listening Inward

Hi, Everyone

My birthday was just a few days ago, and I had planned something big to celebrate — skydiving.

I drove out to the drop zone, watched the jumpers soar through the sky, and tried to summon the courage to take the leap myself. But as the moment got closer, I noticed something: my palms were sweating, my thoughts were racing, and despite all my preparation, something in my heart said “not today.”

And so I didn’t jump.

I’ll be honest — on the drive home, I felt disappointed. I judged myself harshly. I had built up this idea that doing something bold and brave would prove something… and when I didn’t go through with it, I felt like I had failed.

But the truth is: I did something just as brave.
I listened to my intuition.
I honoured my body’s signals.
And I gave myself permission to say no, even when I had the option to say yes.

As a coach, I often talk about the connection between mind and body — and how your body always knows. Sometimes courage doesn’t look like jumping. Sometimes it looks like pausing and saying, “Not today, and that’s okay.”

So here’s my invitation to you this month:
Where can you offer yourself more compassion?
What’s something you’ve been pushing yourself to do — and what would happen if you paused to listen instead?

This is the work I do with clients every day — bridging emotional and physical awareness to guide more aligned decisions.

Thanks for being here and being part of my journey.
Here’s to brave choices, whatever they look like.

With care,
